providing safe drinking water and promoting hand hygiene ... saves lives
Access to safe water and good hygiene practices are essential in promoting health and achieving the recovery of children from malnutrition. Water is vital for the survival and development of children, who can die from illnesses like diarrhoea caused by dirty water. It is difficult to maintain good health and fight off illnesses and malnutrition, without having safe water for drinking, cooking and personal hygiene.
In our projects, we work with the community seeking to guarantee clean water and promoting basic hygiene practices. Something as simple as washing hands with soap before eating or after going to the toilet, have a great impact on children’s health. Water treatment and its safe storage help prevent diseases. Clean water and handwashing help improve nutritional outcomes and can save lives.
